About Shaniqua Clark Nelson
Shaniqua Clark Nelson is a co-founding partner of Clark Nelson & Burton, PLLC and a versatile litigator with extensive experience handling complex legal matters. A native of Virginia Beach, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from George Mason University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2010.
She began her career as a criminal defense attorney in Northern Virginia before serving as a prosecutor in Portsmouth, where she handled a high volume of cases as a skilled trial litigator. Her experience includes a wide range of criminal matters, from traffic offenses and DUIs to serious felony cases, including violent crimes and complex prosecutions. She also previously served as Chief Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney in Loudoun County, focusing on significant and high-level criminal cases.
Shaniqua is known for her strong client relationships, clear communication, and strategic approach. She is committed to keeping clients informed, involved, and supported throughout every stage of the legal process. Her current practice focuses on criminal and traffic defense, as well as civil litigation, including domestic relations and small business matters.
