Michele L. Burton is a co-founding partner of Clark Nelson & Burton, PLLC and an experienced litigator with a strong background in criminal law. A native of Portsmouth, Virginia, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Virginia and her Master of Arts from Old Dominion University. She received her Juris Doctor from the College of William and Mary School of Law in 2012.

Michele began her legal career as a magistrate in Norfolk, where she handled probable cause hearings, warrants, and protective orders. She later served as a prosecutor in Portsmouth, managing a high volume of cases including violent crimes, drug offenses, and complex felony matters.
She went on to serve as a Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney in Loudoun County, where she handled complex cases including homicide and financial crimes, developing a strong foundation in detailed case analysis and trial strategy.

Michele is known for her thorough preparation, strong courtroom presence, and commitment to keeping clients informed throughout the legal process.
Her current practice focuses on criminal and traffic defense, as well as family and civil matters.
